MARISSA MILLER

Biography

Marissa Miller was 12 years old when she transitioned from soccer cleats to ballet slippers. She trained at Washington Rock Dance until 2018, studying modern, ballet and jazz techniques under Cleo Mack, Kelli McGovern and Blair Ritchie. While here, she was involved in evening-length immersive shows and many Nutcracker productions. Marissa attended Somerset County Vocational Technical School where she branched out on more modern and ballet techniques, along with composition and lighting philosophy. In 2017, she attended the American Dance Festival where she dove into styles like Second Line, House, and African dance. Marissa also took part in the Hybridmotion Training Program at L'église Du Saint Cirque, where she studied upside down techniques, contemporary partnering, and handstand training in 2020. Marissa currently studies at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She’s been fortunate to perform works there by Maleek Washington, Gabrielle Lamb, Ruka White and Daniel Pelzig. Marissa has been a member with Hybridmotion Dance Company since 2020, under the direction of Jun Kuribayashi and Mia Daglish, where she studies UpsideDown techniques and acrobatics. She’s found a passion for dance photography recently and enjoys helping create content with her peers.
